Il telaio è il dispositivo mediante il quale si forma il tessuto attraverso l'intreccio di più filati, ma è anche quello da ricamo, usato per tenere tesa la stoffa da ricamare. Il progetto telàio nasce dall'idea di ricamare un supporto rigido al posto del tessuto, eliminando la distinzione tra telaio e tela.
Il supporto scelto è la lamiera forata: un prodotto industriale che viene trasformato attraverso un'attività tradizionale come quella del ricamo, a sua volta reinterpretato in chiave attuale e fortemente personale, con la fettuccia di pelle che sostituisce il filo di lana o cotone.
La foratura della lamiera è stata accuratamente studiata per consentire diverse modalità di intreccio e creare pattern diversi: alcuni si ispirano ai tessuti, altri riproducono lavori all'uncinetto e ricami, altri ancora richiamano l'arte dell'intreccio di una vecchia sedia in paglia di Vienna.
Le possibilità creative sono potenzialmente infinite e le applicazioni molteplici.
Tra queste, telàio realizza una serie di tavolini in alluminio verniciato a polvere, con piano in lamiera ricamata: ogni pezzo è interamente prodotto artigianalmente, ogni pattern realizzato a mano, punto dopo punto.

In Italian "telaio" means loom, used to create textiles through the action of weaving yarns; it also means embroidery frame, used to stretch the fabric to embroider.
The telàio project comes from the idea to embroider a stiff support instead of fabrics, in order to eliminate the separation between loom and canvas.
An industrial product like metal perforated sheet is thus transformed using a traditional textile activity like embroidery, though translated into a modern and personal language, with leather ribbons which take the place of cotton or wool yarns.
Dimension and spacing of the holes in the metal sheet have been carefully studied to allow various stitches or woven works and create different patterns: some reproducing some types of fabric, other reminding crochet and embroidery works, some others reproducing woven creations.
The creative possibilities are potentially infinitive and the applications are numerous.
Among pieces of furniture and complements, the telàio coffee tables are made in powder-coated aluminium: every piece is completely handcrafted; every pattern created stitch by stitch on the perforated base.
Small imperfections are expression of the handcrafted production, thus ensuring that every piece is unique.
